My name is Jenny and I'm from the UK.
I was taught to knit by my Nana when I was 5 or 6 years old, but only ever got as far as "scarves" and didn't even know how to cast off. Then, when I was 20, I picked up a pair of needles and found a "Teach Yourself" book and some youtube videos and began to relearn. Except this time I learnt to cast off, increase and decrease and eventually was making socks, baby clothes, hats, blankets, scarves and loads more things.
I started a shop on Etsy and sold a few things, but then started needing my own jumpers. I could have bought them, but everytime I went into a shop I thought, I could make this! So I put Etsy on hold for a few months to stock up my own wardrobe. By the time I picked up the needles again it was Summer and most of the patterns I had found or written were to warm to really sell at this time of year. So I bought a "Teach Yourself" crochet book and found more youtube videos a couple of months ago. And now I'm hooked (if you'll pardon the much overused pun!) And now my Etsy shop is stocked up again!
My 'real' job is cheffing. Though at the moment I am looking for a new job, so in the meantime I spend most of my time designing/adapting patterns and making lots of pretty things.
