Began crocheting 2010 June 10 with Boye K hook and Lion Brand Wheat Wool-Ease chunky yarn.
First project was “Easy Crochet Bag”, designed by Susan Schildmyer, in “I Taught Myself Crochet”.
Second project was “Cell Phone Case”, designed by Cari Clement, in “I Taught Myself Crochet”. I used Country Blue instead of Sage. (Hooray for Tunisian Crochet!)
I think my third project was Brownie. It turned out a bit too small, but it was my first work in the round and was quite fun to make.
I think my fourth project was Five-Spice Hat. I made it with my Wool-Ease chunky yarn, which I guess is much smaller than the yarn called for in the pattern. The finished hat wouldn't even fit my one-year old niece!
I then made some Christmas presents for my nieces.
One got Little Crocket Piggy.
(I couldn't find Pretty 'n Pink so I substituted Petal Pink.)
The other got Crochet Purse.
I did my best at changing colors to make a large “H” on one side.
I used Jo-Ann Sensations Sumptuous yarn: solid purple one one side and teal with the “H” in purple on the other.
I want to try Five-Spice Hat again as a present for my sister.
I will use Sumptuous so that it will hopefully be large enough to actually wear.
